Plant Description:A Western Australian Species. Known as the Swamp Banksia a very handsome small tree/large shrub, very compact for a banksia, the trunk is covered with a crumbly grey rough looking bark. The leaves are of dark green, smooth with white underside. Banksias are a very popular garden plants in Australia because of their large, showy flower heads, and the large amounts of nectar they produce, attracting many birds to the garden. They may need extra water during dry spells until established. When fertilising, only use a slow-release, low-phosphorus fertilizer. Will respond well to a little pruning to keep shape.

Flower Description:Lots of large cylindrical yellow spikes that can be hidden by the beautiful foliage.

Best Uses: Native garden designs, in coastal plantings and the flowers are ideal for floral arrangements can also be planted around swampy areas.
