Common Name:  Wild cherry, Currant tree, Mamao dong

Best Position:  Full sun part shade. Fertilise 2-3 times a year with a general purpose fertiliser during the warm months. Pruning best done in Spring.

Plant Description:  This medium tree has large glossy dark green foliage and will produce ediable fruit during spring time. The fruits are displayed on the tree from July through September, producing grape-like clusters of 20-30 fruits, each half an inch in diameter, containing a single seed. Berries ripen unevenly, turning greenish white to deep purplish red, creating a colourful display throughout the season. Tucker Bush Safety: Whether using our commercially grown Tucker Bush plants, or sourcing your own fruit & plant material from the wild, caution should be exercised. Fruit and any edible plant material may require specific preparation to be safely eaten. Best Uses:  They may be eaten raw or used in jams, jellies, syrups and wine. The medium tree will tolerate being pruned back to keep it at a managable height.
