Garden Weeds

There are a number of weeds that can emerge in the average garden. They are quick to take advantage of any opportunity to grow so remove any weeds as soon as possible to prevent them spreading. Weeds have other adaptations which enable them to survive and as a result some weeds are very difficult to eradicate.

When it comes to weeds, prevention is better than cure. However, if you are unable to prevent weeds becoming established in your garden there is a huge range of herbicides to choose from. Once again, it is essential to read the label to make sure you are buying the right herbicide. There are some all purpose herbicides on the market, which will kill most weeds. Other herbicides kill specific weeds like bindii, clover and broadleaf while feeding your lawn. One of your best weapons in the fight against weeds is mulch so remember to keep your garden beds well-mulched throughout the year.
